Assignment Books: Students will be filling out their assigment book at the end of each day. Homework is posted on the web site and on the white board in the classroom. Each night the book must be signed by a parent, babysitter or family member. Feel free to write a short comment or concern in the space provided and I will see it when I check the books every morning.
Birthdays: Fifth grade has a no food or treat policy. Please feel free to bring in a small item to celebrate a birthday instead. Ideas include, pencils, erasers, stickers, small toy, or even donate a book or game to the class!

Student Progress: Corrected work will be sent home every Friday. If you have questions or concerns, please send a note or email to me. I'm happy to meet with you before or after school.
Snack: Your child may bring a healthy snack each school day. NO NUTS please. Please be sure to check all labels and packaging. Your child may also have a water bottle at their desk, provided it is not a distraction.
Homework: Homework will be assigned Mondays through Thursdays as needed. Homework is posted on the smartboard in class and on the class web site daily. Studying and reading are considered part of homework. “Big projects” and test dates are given days or even weeks in advance in order to give the child time to produce a quality assignment. Again, please check your child’s homework assignment book daily for all assignments. Please assist your child in meeting the deadlines.
Grading Scale: The Grading Scale has been standardized in Grades 3-8. It is noted on the report card.
